The first website that we are going to look at is merely a definition of what global warming is.  It is no surprise that the definition is so simple, the name itself explains what the issue is.

This website covers the research that is ongoing into understanding the Earth's climate.  It is known that the Earth has been warming and cooling since it was formed.  This organization is dedicated to studying whether or not human activity has any influence on the global climate.  If human activity does influence the Earth's climate it is also important to determine how much of an influence we have.
3
NASA is also working to track and determine the cause of global warming.  Using satellites that are not available to anyone else, NASA can improve weather models on not only global warming but also significant weather phenomenon.  This website is unique in that it shows data on the Earth's "Vital Signs" which inlude levels of Carbon Dioxide a greenhouse gas that is blamed for global warming.
4
Deforestation is another supposed cause of global warming.  The theory behind this is that trees will not only stop producing oxygen, but will also stop filtering out carbon dioxide.  It is important to note that this is the Greenpeace site and that much of what is being talked about is not proven scientific fact although that is how it is written.  It is still unclear if human influence is causing global warming or if it is just the natural cycle of the planet.

This website focuses on the greenhouse effect and explains how gases such as carbon dioxide could cause global warming.  There are also videos of experts and other people talking about what is happeing with the environment.  This page also offers a very good explanation for dramatic climate changes in the history of the Earth.  I was impressed by this website in that it uses the word "could" rather than "will".  This website was very good at relaying that it is a possiblity not a fact.

This website offers a list of scientist that oppose the mad-made global warming theory.  There is just as much scietific evidence that supports a natural cause ot global warming as there is a man-made cause.  This website is interesting in that it lends a less heard side of the global warming story.  Many of the scientists that dispute global warming are in the top of their fields and have gained awards for their research.  It is important to note that these men do not stand to gain anything from this information, it is not true for all pushing the man-made form of global warming.

Here is a wersite that contradicts the scietist from my previous website.  I used this page to demonstrate how global warming is being used to make money.  Much of this page is scientific in nature but sites little sources or scholarly contributors, in fact the website itself is written by a photographer, not a scientist!  However, one thing that this website does do is push for you to purchase a book.  Again, this website is a great example of how global warming is being used for people to make money.

This web page discusses how global warming is already starting to kill off some species of animals.  It does not matter wheter it is man-made global warming or just the natural cycle of the planet, it is important to remember that we do need to deal with it.  This article covers how some more suceptible species such as frogs and insects are already starting to die off due to the warming trend.  Other species such as polar bears are also losing their natural habitats.  It is important to determine if this is natural selection via the Earth's natural climate cycle or is it man's damage to the Earth?

This is an interesting website because it actually challenges the global warming phenomenon all together.  This website lists multiple sources that challenge that global warming is a phenomenon that is actually occuring by questioning data that is presented by global warming "experts".  There is certainly a lot of information on this website that does raise eyebrows on a lot of the information that is being thrown out there by politicians and the media.  A great example of data is the facts on arctic ice mass, this website agrees that arctic ice is down 7% since 1980, but antarctic ice is up 43% since 1980 which is something we do not hear about in the media.  This website lets you think about whether or not the world is really warming or merely adjusting as it has done countless times throughout history.

This last website is a site that helps you by telling you what you can do for the environment.  Whether or not we are causing global warming is irrelevant to whether or not we should do our best to take care of the planet.  This website has a lot of resources that can be used to give you ideas of how to help the environment.  One topic that is discussed at this site is the use of alternative types of energy such as the sun or wind.  If we were to use these types of energies we would have an endless source of power that is cheaper to produce in the long run.  It isn't always about the environment but, if we could find a balance between everyday life and protecting the planet, that would be the best type of energy.
1. I think you're trail reflects my view on global warming to a tee. Many folks become confused when they hear about global warming and man-made global warming. Yes, we are in a phase which the globe in warmer than in the past but many feel this has a lot of out side influences that man has nothing to do with. Here's an article that outlines one view that increased solar activity has a lot to do with what's happening here on earth.(http://scienceblogs.com/startswithabang/2009/04/the_solar_cycle_and_global_war.php). While that one isn't the most reputable here's another from Space.com that explains a little more and backs up the previous. (http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/sun_output_030320.html)

While it may be true that the world is warming I think that man has little if anything to do with it. That being said global warming does cause serious problems (just as global cooling would). Here's a CNN article that hit the web today regarding the potential devistation we could be facing due to global warming (http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/05/29/annan.climate.change.human/index.html?eref=rss_world)

Think about it this way, in a few thousand years we're all going to be worried about the glaciers advancing from the north again as the next ice age crisis hits. This cyclical climate process our planet goes through is natural; it's the impact on our lives that makes it a crisis.
