On this website, it gives a summary of Julius Caesar's entire life. He was born 100 BCE into a noble family of Rome. When he was eighteen he married Cornelia, and she bore him his only "official" child, Julia. He started off in the military, and quickley progessed up the ladder. His first major victory came when he obtained a fleet of ships from the King of Bithynia. Unfourtunatly vicous rumors were spread after that victory. He was captured by Cilician pirates in 75 BCE, and held for ransom. He later escaped and killed them. He was known to over- dramatize his life, but was and excellant speaker. In 68 BCE he captured a place in the senate. In 58 BCE he left Rome for nine years and conquered most of Europe. He went to war with Greece, and with only 21 000 soilders as compared to the 46 000 Greece had, he achived the increadable feat of winning. The leader or the Greecian army Pompey escaped to Egypt, but was betrayed by the rulers (a joint effort by Cleopatra and Ptolemy) and his head was delievered to Caesar. Cleopatra was driven by her brother out of Egypt and smuggled herself into the palace in Alexandria. They supposedly had a relationship that resulted in a illegitamate son. After many sucessful years of leading armies and people a polition many were worried he was trying to get onto the throne.
