The function of the State Land Appraisal board is to obtain appraisals for land acquisition programs of the board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund. The bureau hires independent fee appraisers to conduct the majority of the appraisals and reviews used in this process. In addition, appraisals are obtained as a decision making tool in the disposition of State owned lands.
