I found this handy list of FAQs at the Manta wind and water sports site. All the questions you didn't know whom to ask (or were too afraid to?). Costs, risks and booking queries are all covered well.
I haven't tested them on it, but this site claims to teach you to kite surf in just 2 lessons! You can book a lesson online (first check the lessons section to see what you're in for) and see pictures of people going through the motions. Read the jargon section if you want to sound like a pro in under 1 hour!
I've been kite surfing a while and so I was delighted with this site since it has listings of great kite surfing locations around the world. You can perfect your technique by joining a day or a week long instruction in Miami, Scotland, England or even France. And you can choose from private lessons to beginner's courses or even take an IKO certified course.
