About this trail:
Lots of suggestions for "Guy Lit". I don't share Smith's objections to "chick lit" but I like a good guy book too. Haven't yet gone through the whole list in detail, but there are a few things at least I'll be adding to my list.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit I read these. They're utter trash, but fairly entertaining trash. So that's okay.

I wouldn't have thought that I'd find historic navel war novels that interesting, but all the O'Brians I've read so far have been very good. The characters are engaging and the historic detail is fascinating. From major political developments to naval battle tactics to the details of life aboard ship, there's a lot to hold your attention.

Jeanette Winterson made a huge impact on my when I was about 23 and read "Written on the Body". To be honest, since then my attention has strayed a bit. She seems to repeat herself a bit, and some of her more experimental directions didn't do much for me. But she's still a favorite -- even if she'd written only that one book, she'd have been a profound influence on my life.

This book sounds good, and I'd like to read some of the other workplace books referenced in the review.
