Necrotizing fasciitis is the scientific name for flesh eating disease. Extensive tissue destruction is seen when this disease spreads. Unless immediately treated, this disease can prove to be fatal as it spreads very fast and can kill within a day of the infection being seen. A number of different bacteria are believed to cause this disease.
