In fact, these are the changes that take place instead of the emergence of this hybrid automobiles:
Fuel Price Hike - People are opting to get the public transportation because fuel prices are getting higher and higher.
Consolidated Travels - People are considering to travel as a group especially on vacations or even during the usual trips to schools or offices.
Alternative fuel combustion - Some others are into alternative fuels. Bio-fas and the like. Hope it would do good to their engines in the long run.
Here are two hybrid cars or automobiles worth mentioning:
Toyota's Prius or Honda's Insight is said to have an average of 60 miles per gallon with fewer emissions. When driving in the city, the hybrid automobile is powered by the electric motor and thus consuming less gas or fuel. On the highway where power is much needed, this is where the gas or fuel will do most of its work.
Both Prius and Insight run on gasoline power and electric power. Thus for naming them hybrid cars or automobiles.
Technology is still a blessing though.
