Voices from the Schoolhouse is a project that was developed this year from a grant which purchased equipment that students used to digitally record the history of education in Trussville.  Students in Mrs. Erin McGuyer's classes used digital recorders to interview people who attending school in Trussville.  They used a public wiki to upload their images, podcasts, and information about their person.  By using a wiki, students were able to work on their project 24/7 unlike traditional projects that could only be produced during the school day.  Voices from the Schoolhouse will continue to grow as not only middle school students contribute but intermediate school students also.

High School students in Mr. Scozzaro's American History classes were struggling to find time to work collaboratively on a Civil War presentation assigned to them.  During a training session at the high school, Johnny asked how technology to create time for his students.  We worked together to understand the objectives and created this wiki simply as a collaborate space that never sleeps.  The students worked to locate information to meet the project's requirements.  This allowed them to better use their class time to create the project instead of researching.  Students said they liked using the wiki to post information because they didn't waste the time in class.

Students in Mrs. Katie Riggin's Forensic Science class used their wiki to sign up for decades to research scientists.  They also used the wiki to store information for the project so decrease the amount of class time needed to create the project.  Katie loved the wiki because she was able to grade their information without lugging home tons of paper.  She also used the history feature to see when the students posted their information to make sure it was completed on time.
