The purpose of this article is as a warning.  Scientists overwhelmingly agree that temperatures will increase dramatically without society taking immediate steps to reduce the pollution that causes global warming.  Simple ways the article mentions of cutting global warming pollution are creating new laws requiring cutting vehicle emissions, finding more efficient appliances and equipment for our homes and businesses, and replacing older power plants with newer renewable sources. With these simple steps global warming can be reduced.
