I work at NMSU where I teach education courses, conduct workshops for other NMSU faculty intersted in teaching and learning with technology, and provide technical support and server admin functions for the College of Extended Learning.
Education
I'm currently working on my dissertation in the field of instructional design for online learing at Capella (a great school with a very caring, knowledgeable, and experienced faculty). I also have a MA in Curriculum and Instruction and a BA in Languages and Linguistics.
Personal
When I'm not working or studying, I can usually be found at my computer trying out the latest new tool and how it works on my mac or my pc.
Today (2007) we frequently ask our students to post to blogs, wikis, and other open spaces. How ethical is it for use to require students to post work that is so public? What ethical responsibilities do we have, as faculty making those assignments, to alert our students to the open nature of the web, to the likelihood of having one's work/thoughts/ideas come back to haunt them one day when their future possible employer googles them, etc....
