About this trail:
Yvonne,
Wow - what a great looking website you're presenting here. Despite our struggles with Google Pages and YouTube, it seems you were able to make some real progress. The site has a nice calming color and is easy to read -thanks! I also like the navigation and the images you have included throughout - very effective.

Good points here - bt don't forget that there are folks out there who are not on the tech wagon. For example, there is a kind of digital divide in generations. Marc Prensky uses the metaphor of digital natives vs. digital immigrants as a means of talking about this issue. I suppose I'm just trying to temper you a little here.

I don't disagree with you in spirit, Yvonne, but wonder if a teacher can plan this kind of learning. Who is the agent in transformation learning - the learner or the teacher, or both? My sense is that most learning is transformational, but maybe I am not sure how the definition you offer is different.

This section is very clear in the way you define terms - I could use a picture about now too :-)

Good links to some real projects here - brief annotations of what lies underneath them would be a reader friendly strategy. I think this also where you could have elucidated a little more of the teaching implications and even practical reasons people are using VLEs - people are not in the same location, right? Eg your teacher or friends are distributed geographically - you don't need to be in the same place.

Hey, thanks for sharing that video - I'll now need to go and watch the hour version! Now I see why you wanted the video in your webpage - the link worked fine too ;0
I could see the use of Alice as an intersting focus for the final part of your project.

Yvonne, I have enjoyed your trip through VLEs. I like how you have worked to connect the environments to constructivist teaching given your interest and alignment with that paradigm. You get into a lot of the general possibilities and make a good case for exploring further in phase 2. As you proceed I'll want you to try to hone in on one VLE at least to help you focus your efforts a little more. Otherwise you run the risk of trying to do too much! I appreciate the enthusiasm for technology and these new tools, as well as the recognition that you have to go into this carefully and thoughtfully. Overall, your project is creatively presented, interactive and informative. My primary critique is that the more focused connection with language learning is not entirely clear.
