cancer is essentially a disease of mitosis. cancer begins when a single cell transform, or converts from a normal call to a cancer cell. DNA mutation occurs in one genes control growth.

• cancer cells can't die
• normal cells divide about 50 times then die.
• cancer cells have unusual numbers of chromosomes
  

mitosis and cancer are related because they are forms in with cells multiply and divide to produce new cells and  help the organism survive.
