Waitomo Caves

We relunctantly left Tutukaku and drove south to see the Waitomo caves. I'm glad we did! We took the 4 hour 'wet' cave tour with the Black Water Cave guys, where we repelled down a 100 foot shaft, zip- lined acrossed the stream, and jumped into the icey stream, filled with fresh water eels. We floated down stream and was amazed by the gloworms (maggots), then climbed out by wiggling up some waterfalls. I can't imagine a tour like this in the states... too much liability. Awesome!
