About this trail:
A friends mapper, along with chat you can embed into your blogs, or MySpace profile, or really anywhere that allows JavaScript. It also has profiles and pictures, even though I have not been able to get it to accept any of the pics I have tried. One of these days, I'll get around to taking some with clothes and we'll see what happens...

If you got a computer too late to experience the BBS craze, you really missed the bus. Of course, it's "low-tech" compared to the Internet, but that's part of its charm. This is a web version of a BBS, and a really good one, at that. If you are familiar with Telnet, the actual BBS is there, but I'll let you find it. If you don't know what Telnet is, but want to find out, give it a hot -- it's largely painless and a lot of fun!

This thing is killer! Every field is customizable, which means you spend a lot of time on just one entry, but it's worth it. It's not only a cataloguing system, it also allows you to buy and sell issues! Still, the database system absolutely rocks! You can spend hours on it, and I will. So far, I only have my Kamui run entered to test drive it, but this is going to be a long weekend...

Once again, I saved the best for last. LibraryThing is like a million things in one: a community site with profiles and pictures; an inventory for your personal library; a reverse search engine (by ISBN or Library of Congress number) which can search like 45 major libraries, as well as Amazon; it allows you to review books; it allows you to tag books; it has Groups and Chat... Really killer. I spent the entire day here last weekend and broke the site. I plan to join on a Lifetime membership, if I ever get paid blogging... by then, I may have had to sell my personal library or burn it for heat.

I have no idea what I was searvhing for when I found this, so knock it off! Anyway, it appears to be some sort of vanity site cum hobbyist support site for a game called Transport Tycoon. I'm familiar with neither the game nor the webmaster and I've only poked around a little while, so I have no idea what all is on here. You gotta admit, it looks cool.
