1973 Cessna Cardinal 177RG. Same Owner for the last 19+yrs. and only the 3rd owner of the airplane since new. Hangered for the last 19 years. There are a few chips in the paint however the paint is in overall good condition.
Arguably one of the best single engine airplanes ever made by Cessna, and definitely the most efficient. This airplane has great ramp appeal. Cruises at altitude 138-140kts (TAS) @ about 7.5gph. Look at a comparable aircraft, a Cutlass 172RG, to go anything close (not near as fast) to the cruise of the Cardinal, the Cutlass RG will use about 1 1/2-2gph more. At $5.00+/gal for avgas, flying 100-200 hrs/yr., you are looking at well over $1,000.00/yr. in fuel savings, and thousands over a few years. You do the math! That is also why these planes will always hold their value, and good Cardinal RGs are getting harder and harder to find. Just look around.
New carpet and interior trim.
Note: Cessna stopped making the Cardinal RG in 1977-78 because it was too expensive to build, partly due to the 'laminar flow' design of the wing.
I am selling the airplane as I have lost my medical.
Total Time: 4260hrs. (total time since new)
Engine: 1436hrs SMOH and 1462hrs since a complete top overhaul
The airplane has dual nav/com. Narco MK12D and a King KX170B; A Narco 190 DME, KMA -20 Audio panel, KT76 Transponder, Sigtronics 2 place intercom with headsets, An Apollo 618 Loran that is not current but works great, Electronics International digital EGT/CHT, and a II Morrow Yolk mounted moving map GPS.
Airplane has current annual until 12/31/08.
$61,500.00
