Ariene, I agree that many times celebrities become the wrong examples for the public, (especially for children), but I believe that their failure in maintaining their stardom properly, is caused by all the pressure that comes along with being a celebrity. They never wanted to become a wreck, it was just that they couldn't control their lives. So, this would be a sign to the public, about the effects of drugs or poisnous substances and how pressure can actually change lives.
