Suggestions for further inquiry: I might document cases where children of immigrant families have to “act” one way in school and “act” another way at home.
Starting with a book on Amazon: There's a passage on indentity conflicts and appearances in a book listed on Amazon. But how do I know? Well, I learned a little trick about finding hidden informationon the Web. Have you ever searched inside a book on Amazon? It's a kind of peculiar way to read a book, downright post-modern. You can bounce from topic to topic, or shall I say "key phrase" to key phrase?
HOW TO READ A BOOK ON AMAZON:
  • If the book on Amazon has the feature: Search Inside, you can actually read every page--not necessarily in order. :-)
  • Mouse over the book and you will see a pop-up with a search box. Type American Dream in the search box
  • click: GO.
  • Click on the link "from Back Matter"
  • Read the section titled:  "The Parent Child Relationship"
  • To turn the page, click the white wedge to either side of the page.
