A handicapped is to have a disability or difficulty with something. It means not to be able to do something. When you have a handicapped you have disadvantages with somethings that a person without a handicapped won't have.

I think that the word "handicapped" means that people have special disabilities that forces them to stay out of certain activities which may aggravate that certain disability. For example, people who are blind are unable to watch television. For another example, people who have broken parts of their bodies would be unable to play sports. If someone with a broken arm was trying to play basketball, they would have a very hard time holding and throwing the ball. When I was five years old, I got my middle finger in my right hand stuck in a door. I almost lost my finger. I had to skip piano practice for almost a month. I agree with 12LawtonT because these people with special disabilitiesn are deprived of certain activities that other people can participate in.
