Reviewed on March 12th, 2008 Find moreI’ve been an HG client for more than 5 years and overall I am very happy with their service and product offering. However, be prepared to receive lots (and lots!) of spam through their mailservers. They simply do not have effective enough spam filtering.
Yes, HG do have spamassassin (SA) and spambox but SA doesn’t seem to filter well enough and often spam will all of a sudden increase 10 fold for several weeks with no real explanation or help. I have experienced this many times over my several years with HG (and am experiencing at this very moment).

Been with the Gator about 18 months now. Only had to use the support system a very few times. Had a mod security problem today with a new addon domain. Took about 30 seconds to get onto the live chat, Carl was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Ive been with MANY hosts in the past, im an australian, and of course aussie servers are fast because i live here, but i find host gator server transfer speeds very close to that of other hosts ive had (who are aussie servers).
