Are people allowed to take their laptop, iPod, or even a book? It gives dimension and exclusions, but many other tihngs have been prevented in the UK as well. It would be nice if they could give more information. Many people are thinking about foregoing travel not just due to the risk, but also the wasted time in airports and tedium of travelling when you have to sit still and do nothing for 4-12 hours or more at a time.

BBC NEWS | UK | 10,000 bags misplaced at airports

Its understandable that the government, airports and airlines are struggling to confront a slightly new form of terrorism threats. However, mis-placing 10,000 bags is not only bad for passengers, it highlights a security risk.
