Normal… it’s a word in the dictionary. Crippled and handicapped… we’re all crippled and handicapped. Rage and shame… feelings like any others. I had tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat when I finished reading this...What is normal, then ?

The timing of this site's debut marks the 30th anniversary of being burned by a gasoline can explosion in a cabin on Lake Geneva, Florida on a very cold Thanksgiving morning in 1976. The author was burned over fifty percent of his body, including his face, and was treated at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, and then at the Shriners in Boston. He was ten years old at the time of the accident.
