This gem is perfect for anyone who browses on shared or public computers. It runs from a USB drive, SD card, or other portable media. Take all your profile settings including extensions and bookmarks with you, leaving nothing behind on the host computer. As with other portable apps, it will run fastest on USB 2.0, and the faster the drive or card's read/write speed, the better.

FEBE is one of the very first extensions which I recommend installing. FEBE allows you to backup your extensions, bookmarks, cookies, forms, passwords, or your entire Firefox profile with all its settings, to a folder of your choosing. You can even select options to timestamp and schedule automatic backups. This is crucial for several reasons. First, you will find that as time goes on, your personal preferences will greatly customize Firefox away from its default configuration. Second, you may find that a certain new extension that you just installed is causing you problems. So having a profile backup can save you a lot of time.

  • Firefox Firefox: 2.0 – 2.0.0.*
