This is an excellent series with solid background universe and a believable main character. The author's politics are a bit conservative though.

Fun game of Galactic exploration & conquest. Was VERY buggy but the current patch and some player mods have solved a lot of the problems.

I want one! But it probably needs a phased tachyon emitter with extra buffers for home use...make it so Mr. LaForge.
