Scientology

I want to demystify Scientology as well.. I mean surely something that has survived half a century has more to it than Travolta and Cruise? Scientology is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all of life. The Scientology religion comprises a body of knowledge extending from certain fundamental truths.

Founded by an American science fiction author in 1952, it began as a self-help philosophy.   In Scientology no one is asked to accept anything as belief or on faith. That which is true for you is what you have observed to be true. An individual discovers for himself that Scientology works by personally applying its principles and observing or experiencing results

A religion and spirituality magazine's take  on scientology. Scientology considers the belief in a God or gods as something personal and therefore offers no specific dogma. The nature of the Supreme Being is revealed personally through each individual as s/he becomes more conscious and spiritually aware. There exists a life energy or force (Theta) beyond and within all.

Unlike a lot of self help philosophy, scientology has actually emerged a movement and an institution.   Scientology is about the individual man or woman. Its goal is to bring an individual to a sufficient understanding of himself and his life and free him to improve conditions in the way that he sees fit.
